Okay, so prior to being gluten-free my kids loved oatmeal. Not the boxed kind that’s half sugar, but real steel cut oats with a little honey and brown sugar… then I found out most of the brands I had been buying contained – you guessed it – GLUTEN! After going to a teensy weensy health food store in my town, I found a product called Rice & Shine by Arrowhead Mills. The picture on the box kinda made me feel a bit skeptical, reminiscent of the Gerber baby cereals – you know which ones I mean. I bought it anyway, hoping for an alternative to the pricy gluten-free oatmeal the big box grocery stores carry. This cereal’s made from brown rice, which I have a hard time getting my four year old to eat but….
Brought it home…  stove or micro?

And the result? Creamy hot cereal the kids love! It has a gritty oatmeal like texture and none of the spongy taste!
